For admin agents, the WYSIWYG editor has been optimized for use with MS Internet Explorer, and Mozilla (Example: Firefox or Netscape). While other browsers will perform all of the basic functions,
certain text editor functions still don't work well with Safari. In addition, the MultiCalendars and News Manager Lite text editors have some problems with cutting/pasting/links when used with Mozilla.
Cookies are not required, though they need to be enabled for anyone who wishes to store their username on their PC for automatic entry.
The PC operating system of administrators should be Windows based. The administration side text editor may not work properly using a MAC OS.
If any administrative agent is planning on using a Mac, please test the product thoroughly via our demos before making your purchase.
(Pay special attention to the WYSIWYG editor, and any Javascript popups.)
A database is required only on your server, and is not required on any admin agent's PC. However, if you wish to run custom reports that are not part of Help Desk, you may find MS Access (or SQL Server) convenient.
No DLLs need to be installed for our applications, though they may be required for special add-ons.
We don't offer support services for the "setting up" of your server itself, your database application, or other server components!
Our applications will work for you, provided that your server has already been setup properly. (They're already working on hundreds of servers, around the world.)
If you have purchased shared hosting, you can be fairly certain that the server and settings will be OK, provided the host advertises the system requirements from the previous page.
However, if you have your own server, please ensure that you can get your server and required components working correctly before purchasing our software. For help with your server setup and server component setup, please contact whomever you purchased these software items from.
In addition, when installing the applications, there will be a few folders that may need to be write enabled. Since this must be done on the server itself, we cannot do this for you. You will need to either use your control panel, or contact your host to set these permissions for you.
(Any folders/files requiring special permission settings will be described in the install manual. Or, if we're installing the application for you, we'll let you know about any required permissions changes by email.)
At Expinion.net, we'll always do our best to help you in any way we can. But if your server problems are extensive, we won't likely be able to help you with that. We are experts on the use and installation of our own software, we simply aren't server experts.
