Rant about Expinion.COM, Spammers & Domain Ransomers

Why Don't WE Buy Expinion.com ?

Occasionally, our well meaning clients discover that Expinion.com is available for sale, and ask us this question.

Well, back in 2003, when we decided to change our company / domain name to Expinion, it was because we loved the meaning of the word (To Clarify), and the irony that so few people know this. As a bonus, Expinion.com and Expinion.net were both available from iCANN!

Unfortunately, our research quickly told us that previous Expinion.COM owners had been flagged as Spammers! At Expinion.NET, we are like most everyone else, in that we get tons of spam. Naturally, we hate spam too. For this reason we have strict policies against sending unsolicited emails.

So, if Expinion.com is still flagged as a spammer's site (even now - 7 years later), why would anyone want to be associated with it? We certainly don't, so instead, we own the domains Expinion.net and Expinion.ca. As a company that specializes in .asp and .Net applications, we think that's enough. Especially with a US Trademark!

Q: What does Expinion.NET think about the various morally questionable companies, which for the last 7 years successively buy Expinion.com, then try to ransom it at HUGE prices ? (Currently: DomainCollection.com)
A: Very little!   But, good luck with THAT!   :P

Q: Which spam lists are Expinion.COM on?
A: Thanks for asking!   ;)
The following are the ones that are still current, and are known to us.

Why YOU shouldn't buy Expinion.Com!

Our company (Expinion.net) has a US trademark on the name Expinion. You cannot use it for software without violating this. So even if you don't mind dealing with domain sharks, overpaying for domains, and being associated with Spamming activities, you couldn't even use the domain.

Note:
Anyone else out there that wants to foil domain ransoming villains, by keeping the ransomed domains undesirable, is very welcome to tell us about any other Expinion.COM spam listings!
